2-ethyl-1-hexanol

2-ethyl-1-hexanol or 2-EH for short is 100% produced from renewable sources. 2-EH is a versatile molecule that can be used, among other things, as an intermediary in fragrance, pharmaceutical, surfactant or plasticizer industries.
For example, DEHP, a plasticizer, can be produced from 2-EH and is used to confer flexibility in PVC products.
2-Ethylhexyl nitrate can be used as a cetane improver in diesel fuels.
2-Ethylhexyl-4-(dimethylamino)benzoate, has a powerfull UV-B absorbance profile with high SPF to concentration. 2-Ethylhexyl-4-methoxycinnamate shows analogue properties.
